Vacating Cleaning Instructions


KITCHEN
1. Light Fixtures/Ceiling Fans – Wipe down & replace any burned out bulbs.
2. Cabinets/Drawers – Remove all contents & shelf paper. Wipe down tops, fronts, sides & insides of cabinets, removing all contents, crumbs & debris.
3. Light switches/Electrical Outlets – Wipe down, removing all marks. Replace broken switch plate covers.
4. Countertops – Wipe down completely, leaving no residue.
5. Sink – Clean sink, faucets & garbage disposal, removing all water deposits and debris.
6. Oven – Clean inside & out. Oven, range hood, exhaust fan, and shelves must be completely cleaned. Lift stove top and clean underneath drip pans. Remove bottom drawer of range & clean the floor underneath. If drip pans are damaged or not completely cleaned, replace them or you will be charged for replacements.
7. Refrigerator/Freezer – Clean inside & out. Make sure the top, sides, handles and seals are clean. Pull out refrigerator & clean the floor underneath. You’ll be surprised at what you find under there! Vacuum grill on back of refrigerator to remove dust.
8. Dishwasher – Wipe down inside & out including the sides & seal. Remove any food or debris.
9. Floors/Baseboards – Wipe down completely. Do not use any product with wax.

BATHROOMS
1. Light Fixtures/Ceiling Fans – Wipe down, including tops of light fixtures. Replace any burned out bulbs.
2. Cabinets/Mirror – Wipe out cabinets & clean under sink. Clean mirror completely, leaving no streaks.
3. Sinks/Faucets/Countertops – Clean sink fixtures & basin, leaving no debris, residue or water spots.
4. Door – Wipe down door & handles on both sides.
5. Toilet – Clean toilet including base, toilet seat, tank & bowl. Remove ring from toilet using a pumice stone. These can be purchased at any hardware store.
6. Bath tub/Surround – Scrub bathtub including entire enclosure, faucet, front of tub, showerhead & shower doors. Remove water stains. Remove shower curtain.
7. Floors/Baseboards – Wipe down completely. Do not use any product with wax.

LIVING ROOM, BEDROOMS, HALLS
1. Carpets/Baseboards – Vacuum carpets & wipe down baseboards.
2. Light switches/Electrical Outlets – Wipe down, removing all marks. Replace broken switch plate covers.
3. Door – Wipe down door & handles on both sides.
4. Light Fixtures/Ceiling Fans – Wipe down & replace any burned out bulbs.

GENERAL
1. Carpets/Floors – Vacuum carpets. Clean all hard surface floors. We will have the carpets professionally cleaned.
2. Baseboards – Wipe down all baseboards.
3. A/C Unit & Heat Registers – Clean filters on A/C unit & wipe down entire unit. Wipe down all heat registers & wall heaters removing all dust.
4. Light switches/Electrical Outlets – Wipe down, removing all marks. Replace broken switch plate covers.
5. Windows/Tracks/Screens/Sills/Blinds – Completely clean all windows on both sides. Clean out all debris in window tracks & wipe down sill. Open windows & clean tracks on the other side. Wipe down blinds on both sides & top rail. Remove screens & clean. Screens can be vacuumed with a brush hose attachment on your vacuum cleaner, cleaned in the shower or sprayed down with a hose & window cleaner.
6. Walls – Wash any scuffs off walls using washcloth or magic eraser. Remove nails, hooks, etc. but do not spackle.
7. Decks/Patios – Sweep and clean, clean exterior lights & replace any burned out bulbs.
8. Yard – If you do your own lawn care, please mow, pull weeds and leave yard looking nice.
9. Garage – Sweep floors & use cleaner to remove any oil stains. Wipe down doors & surfaces.
10. Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Detectors – Check to make sure battery is working. Replace battery if necessary.

When you have completely vacated your apartment, please notify the Utility Companies, notify & return your keys to management, and leave your forwarding address with the post office and our office. Security Deposit Accounting will be mailed to you within 14 days.
